Auntie Barbara's features a twist to animal care. Most of our clients deny themselves a vacation because they wouldn't leave their children at a kennel. Barbara Goetz the owner who lives on the premis took a 10 acre, 1893 farm house and created an animal haven. It has been in business since 1997 and references are available upon request.

Our services include animal boarding, day care, grooming services (for dogs only), and alternative medical information.

The idea behind the concept is that animals are not just left in cages sometimes without any company for long periods of time. We feature suites for dogs and cages for most other animals. The suites are bedroom style suites featuring ceiling fans, windows, regular walls, special bedding and doors.
The dogs are taken out to play (off leashes) 8-16 times per day depending on weather conditions. We also have indoor playtimes. Whenever possible we socialize the animals to play together to enhance their experience. For our special needs guests or animals who don't play well with others they are still treated with the same consideration and personal space.

Kitties, Rabbits, Ferrets and Birds are a bit tougher. These particular furry friends don't always do as well away from home they are primarily caged but if friendly are brought out numerous times daily to get exercise and love.

We require an interview prior to your furry friends stay (see interview). You can bring any of your animals favorite things to make them feel at home. You provide all the food as we do not want to change their diet as it upsets tummies and gives us potty problems. The suites are cleaned daily, whenever possible animals are brushed and are given baths when necessary (subject to add.cost). We try to be flexible with our check in and out times to fit into your schedule with a few exceptions. Appointment times must be set for drop offs!

All vaccinations are required including Bordatella or Kennel Cough and must have been completed at least 2-3 weeks prior to your animals stay. What this means is if your animal has been vaccinated 2-3 weeks prior to stay, I will not take them. Animals can have reactions to vaccinations, we would prefer it happens to you at home and not while they are boording. During spring, summer and fall we do recommend that your animal is on a flea & tick treatment program as well as heartworm. Special medications can be administered upon request.

Every animal is subject to an interview prior to stay and we reserve the right to deny any animal entrance who we feel might not fit in. You are given a journal of your friends behavior, antics, playmates, eating habits and eliminations. Our business is honestly if your animal didn't enjoy their stay we will be perfectly honest with you about his or her displeasure. We are not for everyone but most find they have an exhaustingly good time. We always require you leave us an emergency number. All medical costs and damages will be incurred by the owner of the animal. We will contact you if your animal is not adjusting well, feeling ill or needs special care. There will be no surprises when you come to pick up your friend.
